Whether you're celebrating a hen's party, birthday, work event or simply looking for an excuse to get together, The Clay Station offers relaxed, beginner-friendly pottery experiences that are as much about the process as the pottery.

No one needs to be creative. In fact, that's probably the most common thing people tell me before they arrive.

For a couple of hours you'll slow down, get your hands in clay, laugh, chat, and create something that's beautifully, imperfectly yours. Then, a few weeks later, you'll relive the experience when your finished piece is ready to take home.

Join me in my cosy Lake Hayes studio for a relaxed hand-building pottery session.

Want to celebrate somewhere special?

I can bring The Clay Station to wineries, restaurants, offices, retreats, holiday homes and event venues throughout Queenstown and beyond.

Previous venues include Kinross, Little Mez, Yonder and many beautiful Airbnb properties.

What's Included

  • Up to 2–2.5 hours of creative fun

  • Clay, tools and everything you'll need

  • Guidance throughout the session (perfect for beginners)

  • A choice of beautiful hand-building projects

  • Underglazes to personalise your creations

  • Bisque and glaze firing

  • Your finished pieces ready to collect (or delivery can be arranged) approximately 3–4 weeks later

Is It Messy?

Not really.

Unlike wheel throwing, hand-building doesn't use water, making it a much cleaner experience.

Everyone works on their own pottery board, so the clay stays contained and cleanup is simple. You're welcome to wear an apron if you'd like, but most people simply wear comfortable clothes they don't mind getting a little creative in.
